Opis:The study of intonation for a dialectal variation must consider the traits of the different speakers that comprise it. For this matter, this paper describes the declarative statements used in the variation of Spanish spoken in the state of Queretaro (Mexico), based on the comparison between Otomi-Spanish bilingual and Spanish monolingual speakers. The assessed participants were fifteen women; five of them were monolingual, from Santiago de Queretaro (state capital); five of them were monolingual, from the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil; and five of them were bilingual, from the town of El Bothé, located in the same municipality. The analysis is performed following the parameters of the Autosegmental-Metrical Model. Accordingly, the proposed labeling conventions are integrated into the Spanish ToBI system. The data is analyzed from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint. Results show that the declarative toneme in this variation could be represented as L+ (¡)H* M%, with individual phonetical variations that allow for the distinction of each group of speakers.
