Beschreibung:This article aims to analyze the different discourses - both medical / scientific, as well as educational and mediatic - whose central axis was sexual normality and, in this way, elucidate some of the main historical processes that shaped heterosexuality in Costa Rich between the 1930s and 1950s. Through a review of manuals, research papers and journalistic articles, it is established that the construction of sexual normality was influenced by the sexological, psychoanalytic and hygienic knowledge coming from Europe, and was characterized by its unstable and precarious nature. Likewise, said construction process produced the conformation of its threats. It is concluded that normality, in addition to its disciplinary nature, also played an important role in shaping subjectivities, gradually entering the imaginary of popular culture
