Description:Since the Spaniard conquering, there are legends about the existence of some very rich minesnear Tisingal and La Estrella located in Costa Rica, first reported by Juan Vázquez de Coronado. During the XIX century, there were at least ten expeditions looking for the famous mines. At the end of the XIX century,occurred an intention of colonization and exploitation of Talamanca. The geologist William M. Gabb denied theexistence of big mines and von Frantzius considered that they may be located in Honduras.
