Descripción:This work starts from the premise of considering public opinion beyond the well-known published opinion crystallized in studies of political culture. Instead, it considers the speeches undertaken by the so-called opinion makers as they can channel the interpretations of an electoral process. The article proposes an analysis of the public interventions, in the written press and social networks, of the “opinion makers” during the Municipal Elections in Costa Rica 2016. It describes the formal mechanisms used for the political analysis and diluted both tendencies and subjects of approach. Finally it realizes a comparative analysis of the interventions, evidencing agreements and disagreements inthe interpretation of the electoral results. It is concluded that the discourse of opinion formers is disseminated under a prospective and a retrospective opinion.
