| Miêu tả: | Este artículo investiga las cocinas y hábitos alimenticios como marcadores de identidades nacionales y sociales, en un contexto local caracterizado por impactos transnacionales.Recurriendo a mi trabajo de campo realizado en Costa Rica en 2010/11 tematizo la construcción de identidades y cocinas en familias de hospedaje costarricenses. Mostraré que en este contexto la construcción de la propia cocina ocurre bajo la negociación de imágenes externas y está guiada por el reto de presentarse como Costarricense y de mantener la distinción social. This paper examines cuisine and eating habits as markers of national and social identities in a local context characterized by transnational influences. Drawing on results of my fieldwork conducted in Costa Rica in 2010/11I will illustrate the construction of identities and cuisines in Costa Rican host families. I will show that in this context, the construction of the “own‟ cuisine takes place by negotiating external images and is guided by the aim to present oneself as Costa Rican while at the same time maintaining the social distinction. |
