Cur Síos:This article shows a comparison and projections of contagion and death from the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), between countries in South America, considering cases per million inhabitants and standardizing the contagion time, from the day of case zero confirmation and in addition, the predictions for the following days for each country. The objective is the evaluation of the spread of this virus and the measures adopted by governments against COVID-19, since various research centers show only comparisons without considering the proportion of inhabitants, nor the time (days) of contagion between countries. Taking into account these factors, it is observed that the reality is different from that reported in the media. An example of this is that Peru is the most affected country in South America, only surpassed by Ecuador in deaths per million, and not Brazil.
