Parting form Freud's concept of the Unheimlich, there are several elements that transform the protagonist's insomnia into an angst attack: the night is alive, it pulsates and observes; there is a dissociation of her body, the inanimate lives and even dies; there are voices and hallucinations. In this manner, the horizontal position in the darkness refers to the premature burial, which provokes an angst attack in the protagonist. |
