Descrição:This article seeks to put in perspective the demands of indigenous peoples against the Costa Rican State, mainly from their struggles for territory and autonomy in a context of more than forty years of demand for rights. It is discussed from the same resistance, denunciations, demands and proposals of indigenous peoples in a relationship shaped by the dispute with the institutionality of the State at a time when it seems not to address the agenda set by the indigenous territories of the country.
