To achieve this objective, a documentary research and field work was carried out. The study presents a critique of the way in which this project was conceived, justified and executed by the local government; and describes their trajectories and forms of adaptation. It concludes by characterizing the Chinatown as an instrument of power used to achieve a local political and economic project.
