Disgrifiad:The aim of this article is to address the idioms in French and in BCMS from the point of view of translation. Attention is drawn to the figures of speech and the difficulty of rendering them and preserving them by translating. This is the moment to become aware of the similarities and dissimilarities that exist in both languages, to guess how languages understand reality and express it, to realize therefore that the transition from one linguistic code to another is a complex phenomenon, since it involves several parameters, not only linguistic but also pragmatic and cultural. The translator will strive not only to find an equivalent but to find an equivalent of the same style while keeping the figures that make the expressions more alive and more meaningful.   Key Words : idioms, expressions, translation, figure, equivalent.
