Kuvaus:Tibor Sekelj, explorer, anthropologist, journalist and writer of Hungarian parents was a citizen of the world. His adventurous life began in 1939, in Latin America, where he spent fifteen years participating in Andean expeditions and research trips to territories inhabited by indigenous communities, especially in Brazil. His first books were published on his expeditions and were followed by publications related to his subsequent trips in Europe, Asia and Africa. In Latin America, Sekelj visited a number of countries, including Costa Rica in 1953. After his arrival in San José, Diario de Costa Rica acquired the exclusive rights to publish twenty of his articles written about his experiences and travels in America. The objective of this essay is, in addition to a brief description of Sekelj’s trajectory in the subcontinent, to present the Costa Rican project mentioned using as a source his articles that are kept in a private collection.
