Description:The text analyzes the theory of affects, through the notion of affection (ajfectio). From this, Spinoza derives a series of layers in which the notion of íntensity becomes relevan!. lntensity is a temporal relationship among imagined things, given by the affections produced and concatenated. Imagination and rnemory are the basis, because the intensity is first expressed as the presence of the thing, prolongation of that presence and presentification, and then as concatenation of the images produced. The affect becomes an interpretation of that which affects the human body, as soon as it is considered -whether imaginatively or not- as sorne bodily welfare. To analyze the affections through these variables (intensity, duration and conca- tenation), Spinoza introduces the use of the cceteris paribus clauses.
