Descripción:The objective of this article consists of describing the process of formative evaluation based on feedback and the use of methodological strategies and instruments used for this purpose, which allows to explicit what the achievements are and their relevance in teaching. The investigators chose a systematic method review of scientific articles with the PRISMA methodology, considering Scopus, Dialnet, and SciELO databases from the years 2017 to 2021. With the application of the formative evaluation, the authors achieved the following in the students: motivation, self-assessment, critical thinking, personal improvement when advancing in the achievement of their learning, and responding to the constructivist approach, being active and building them. therefore, it was concluded that feedback is an essential component of formative evaluation and that it is necessary to use appropriate strategies and instruments for the objectives set within a competency-based pedagogical approach; as well as obtain reflective feedback from the students themselves. Moreover, the researchers recommend carrying out innovative feedback programs according to the characteristics and needs of the students in their different educational levels and sharing the results reflected in the improvement of learning.
