Analysis of the Discrimination against Groups in Situation of Vulnerability from a Legal, Social and Ethical Perspective

Descripción:The purpose of this article is to make an analysis related to the act of discrimination. In order to do such analysis, it is required to make a brief incursion into an ethical perspective, considering the studies related to concepts such as equality and dignity, as well as types of discrimination and intersectional discrimination. Moreover, a legal and social perspective is offered to obtain a universal concept from the international regulations, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and applicable regional and special international conventions. Furthermore, Mexico will be exposed as an example to develop the concept of discrimination because it is a country where the regulation against discrimination has been widely enacted. Finally, a brief description of five groups in situations of vulnerability will be made to consider that, despite not being a minority groups, they have historically been victims of structural discrimination. The analysis of the concepts and examples exposed in this article may be a guidance to identify the acts of discrimination presented in different forms and, moreover, aid to take action to avoid these acts and react against them to be able to coexist under a healthy ethical and social order.
