Descripción:The evident manifestation of the climate change endangers food security and sovereignty due to the effects that plants and animals can suffer, mainly those associated with agricultural production systems. For this reason, it is essential to research to know the likely behavior of different organisms, within which the pests are fundamental. This study aimed to interpret the climatic conditions, favorable or not for the population fluctuation of Red Mite (Tetranychus tumidus Banks) and Black Weevil (Cosmopolites sordidus Germ.), in bananas and plantains for the years 2020, 2025 and 2030 under the effect of climate change in Ciego de Ávila. It was conducted in the Provincial Meteorological Center of Ciego de Ávila through designing bioclimatic scenarios with daily data of maximum, mean and minimum temperature and accumulated precipitation from the Regional Climate Model "PRECIS-CARIBE" for SRES A2 and B2. In addition, thermal indices for the biological development of these organisms were used. Alterations in the populations of Red Mite and Black Weevil were identified because of the temperature increase during certain periods of the crop cycle. This situation requires the improvement and adjustment of the phytosanitary management in the face of future changing climate conditions, which entail implementing agroecological principles and technologies, and other forms of sustainable agriculture, essential to mitigate, adapt to climate change and safeguard food security.
