Descripción:This document presents a methodological pre-feasibility study for the production and commercialization of tilapia applicable to the Asociación de Desarrollo Indígena de Altos de San Antonio. This financial evaluation was developed in the canton of Corredores, province of Puntarenas. The main question in this project is: Is the collection and commercialization of tilapia in the canton of Corredores by the Asociación de Desarrollo Indígena de Altos de San Antonio feasible for the period 2019-2020? To answer this question, different studies were carried out: market, technical, legal, environmental, administrative, financial and a technical study for the associates. The research was carried out in four stages, each one corresponding to a chapter of this work. Thus, Chapter 1 indicates the objectives and questions of the project, which are the starting point for the research. Chapter 2 developed the research methodology, specifying the procedures and techniques for collecting, ordering and analyzing the data obtained. Chapter 3, in which the collection and analysis of the data obtained was carried out, according to a market study, allows to know the supply, demand, price and marketing of the product under study. In addition, a technical study is included, in which the factors that influence to take the product from the company to the market are analyzed. A legal-environmental study is added, which focuses on determining the environmental impact of developing this study, in addition to the laws and regulations that must be considered within the framework of legality for the implementation of the project. In addition to the above, the chapter contains an administrative study where the organizational chart of the project is presented. A financial study was developed to evaluate the project in the short and long term, indicating the costs and expenses to be incurred (Chapter 4). The break-even point indicated that 16,435 kilos should be produced in the first year, at a price of ₡3,090. In this project, there was a target for the associates who are part of the production of the main raw material of the study. The amount of initial planting necessary to supply the demand obtained in the market study was proposed, as well as the process to be followed in order to supply the raw material that each one must contribute to the association in the required time. Finally, in Chapter 5, the conclusions and recommendations are presented according to the results obtained in Chapter 4. If the project is not feasible, a series of activities that the associates could implement to obtain income are mentioned, in this way, they will be able to know if the project presented by the association is feasible or not for decision making.
