Description:Climate change poses a significant threat to human health in Costa Rica and around the world. Urgent action is needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate impacts. In recent years, Costa Rica has positioned itself internationally as a ‘green’ country that embraces nature-based solutions and sustainable development. Costa Rica has also made clear efforts to address climate change through its Decarbonization Plan1 and a National Adaptation Plan;2 however, these plans do not include specific measures to protect and improve health through climate change action.
