Cwpx: A Framework for Web Programming in C

| Disgrifiad: | C is an important programming language. A significant number of systems and applications have been created using C. For web development, the standard practice is using frameworks to speed up development and provide web functionality. Web frameworks are numerous and consistent, but not for the C programming language. Most popular frameworks are developed for other languages. Our work found that the web frameworks available for C have very different designs from the popular ones, increasing the learning curve for developers with previous experience in other languages. In order to decrease this learning curve, we characterized popular web frameworks for other languages and designed a similar web framework for C called Cwpx. To demonstrate that the concept of a web framework with similar patterns to popular frameworks in other languages is feasible in C, we conducted three case studies developing applications using Cwpx. |
