Описание:The increase in the generation of waste, as a consequence of the population increase, provokes the search for alternatives that allow the management and disposal of waste. In this research, chemical and organic fertilization was compared from substrates obtained from solid waste from a secondary school for growing lettuce. For the comparison of chemical and organic inputs, an experiment segregated by three treatments is established: organic, chemical and a control without fertilization. During a period of seven weeks, the number of leaves, plant diameter, stem diameter, stem height, root dry weight, lettuce dry weight, relative water content (RCA) and the color. As results, it was obtained that no treatment presented significant differences (p>0.05) for each of the variables evaluated. This suggests that an organic fertilizer applied at a dose that considers the levels of elements in the soil and the needs of the crop, can be equally productive as a chemical system. This with the subsequent decrease in greenhouse gases and pollution of water, soil and air.
