Description:The present study describes the evolution through time of the Bandera Azul Ecológica (BAE) program from 1996 to 2018, focusing on the battle against climate change, environmental education, and public health in Costa Rica. The study describes the beginnings and evolution of the 15 categories up to 2018, envisions forecast for 2030 based on the Sustainable Development Goals, and analyzes water, paper, energy and fuel savings for the categories of “Climate Change”, “Municipalities” and “Eco-Diplomatic”. On the other hand, the study describes the intangible achievements in education, environmental management and public health during the last 23 years.
