Omschrijving:The study Estímulos multimodales asociados a estereotipos de género (Multimodal Stimuli Associated with Gender Stereotypes), based on a thesis of the same name, analyzed university students’ perceptions of professions in Spanish to determine their degree of stereotyping. A questionnaire was applied to 110 participants (53 men and 57 women), between 18 and 38 years old, with a high school diploma. The results showed that students required more time to classify professions when gender categories were expressed verbally compared to when they were presented visually. It was observed that words linked to a single gender were classified faster than those with gendered endings. In addition, terms that did not align with gender stereotypes were classified more slowly than those that did. The classification behavior for epicene words and those associated with a single gender remained similar among women and students from humanities-related fields.
