Kuvaus:The selection and management of forages are essential for optimizing the productivity of agricultural systems. For this reason, the aim of this study is to analyzes the effect of forage species and cutting method on the harvested pasture yield across five farms in the city of Oreamuno, Cartago, Costa Rica. An experimental design and a fixed-effects linear model were used to estimate the impact of agronomic variables, such as forage type, and operational variables like manpower or machine labor. The results reveal significant differences in yield depending on the species used and the type of cutting method, as well as interactions between both factors. These findings provide useful evidence for decision-making aimed at improving the productive efficiency of forage systems in tropical highland regions.
