Description:The objective was to make observations on the morphological development of the tacaco (Sechium tacaco) seedlings.  50 tacaco seeds were sown, and the development of the seedlings was evaluated.  30 days after the emergence of the seedlings, in two of them it was found that, after the death of the main stem, a new stem emerged from the interior of the seed coat, from the cotyledonous buds.  This is the first notice about the existence of cotyledonous buds in tacaco; this is a significant scientific event for this species.
