Description:A major event during the turbulent years from 1940 to 1950 was the creation of the Democratic Action Party, led by the prominent lawyer Alberto Martén Chavarría, in the context of the 1948 Civil War andthe 1949 National Constituent Assembly. This milestone also included the contribution of the Social Democratic Party, resulting from the coalition of the Democratic Action Party and the Center for the Study of National Problems, under the leadership of Rodrigo Facio Brenes.
