Miêu tả:Due to the lack of information on the effects of gentrification on agriculture in Santa Ana, specifically regarding the availability of local beans, the present study aimed to analyze the relationship between gentrification processes and local bean availability in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. During 2022 and 2023, 12 semi-structured interviews were conducted using a qualitative approach with residents of the canton who cultivate beans to examine the availability of local beans. The main findings reveal a decline in the availability of local beans due to market pressures, climate change, and access to agricultural inputs. Despite these challenges, municipal efforts have been crucial in strengthening the coordination among producers and ensuring the local availability of beans. The study concludes that the unregulated expansion of commercial and residential projects has reduced the land available for bean cultivation in Santa Ana; therefore, impacting Food Security and Nutrition and limiting local access to this local food.
