Description:We try to determine how the principles and mechanisms of the imitation of nature can be incorporated into the rules of technological development within the capitalist system. If the global capitalist system is based on the idea of competition, and if technology is one of the cornerstones of such a system, it seems necessary to investigate how this competition could be used to move from destructive technologies to safe, clean, and appropriate ones. This means promoting a cultural change in the rules of practice and technological innovation. Initially, this change can be made at the level of the design process, the state policies of technological innovation and the incentives to the national productive sector, in line with those components or rules of the game which may allow a small country like Costa Rica to compete in a global market.
