Description:This article reconstructs the institutional history of Freemasonry in Honduras between 1896 and 1970. Drawing on newspapers, Masonic journals, documentary compilations, and institutional records, it demonstrates that the order had no documented presence during the independence period, but rather emerged in the late nineteenth century, experienced an initial phase of instability, was reorganized from 1911 onward, and achieved consolidation through the creation of the Grand Lodge and successive constitutions. The study also examines its territorial expansion, the formation of youth lodges, and the emergence of Hijas de la Acacia as an expression of its organizational diversification.
