Omschrijving:The aim of this essay is to study the influence of external conditions close to a scientific community over the personal beliefs that those who are part of it tend to hold. A historical approach is given on the subject, first, starting from the origin of religions in ancient civilizations, second, commenting the impact of determinism driven by Newtonian mechanics, and, finally, highlighting a return to mysticism caused by the lack of a complete interpretation of quantum mechanics. It is concluded that there exists a significant correlation between the state of science in a particular time period and the beliefs held by the members of the scientific community associated with that period.
