| Descrizione: | There is a brief review of the pathology. Then the anatomy and the different variants of the coarctation of the aorta are correlated with the embryology and physiology that could originate these variants. After, there is a description of the main surgical procedures that can be performed to correct the obstruction of the aorta.There is also a description between the presence and absence of an interventricular communication and other intracardiac malformations and their relation with the coarctation of the aorta. Finally and accordingly to the anatomical variants there are recommendations on which is the optimal operation for any anatomical type of coarctation also with a vast analysis of the clinical manifestations of this pathology. |
