| Disgrifiad: | Botanical garden José María Orozco, located in Rodrigo Facio University Campus, Universidad de Costa Rica, is considered one of the most ancient sites of the Institution. It was created in 1932 with remarkable effort by the costarican benemerit under whose name it is known.Moments and facts that contributed to give shape to its landscape and the progessive construction of its building are described and referenced. Different moments in the academic life have contributed, some times for good and others for bad, to the preservation of the vegetation kept in the garden.Because of the threts faced nowadays by this garden, it will be necessary to develop various tasks inside the university administration to save it, as well as to awake in the costarican population the pride for this vegetable treasure, before it is too late in order to avoid this ecosystem with its rich biodiversity disappear forever. |
