Kuvaus:This study addresses the problem of heterogeneity, curricular rigidity, and limited regional articulation that characterize initial teacher education programs in Central America and the Caribbean, which affect the relevance, quality, and updating of professional training. In this context, the objective is to comparatively analyze curriculum management and the management processes of educational programs in seven public universities belonging to the Central American Higher University Council (CSUCA) and the Central American Integration System (SICA). Using a qualitative, descriptive, and comparative approach, curricular structures are examined as processes of academic management, curricular decision-making, and institutional organization. The findings reveal convergences in comprehensive education, interdisciplinarity, and the integration of digital technologies, as well as persistent challenges related to curricular rigidity, uneven program updating, and limited regional articulation. Among the main strengths identified are territorial contextualization, the incorporation of early professional practice, community engagement, and the development of socioemotional and social justice competencies. The study concludes that advancing toward curricular harmonization and interuniversity cooperation is key to strengthening the quality, relevance, and regional integration of teacher education.
