Beskrivelse:Objective. To develop and validate the Short Emotional Dependence Scale (EDS-S) in Spanish-speaking adults aged 18–50 years. Method. A total of 1159 Peruvian adults aged 18–50 years participated. Internal structure was examined under the graded response model of item response theory, relations with other variables through a structural model, and measurement invariance across sex. Results. A bifactor model with three specific factors (need for affection, low autonomy, fear of abandonment) showed adequate fit (M2 = 30.186, df = 18, p = .036; RMSEA = .024; CFI = .999). Hierarchical omega was acceptable (ωH = .81). The structural model yielded χ²(141) = 1087.27; CFI = .961; RMSEA = .076, and scalar invariance across sex was supported. The EDS-S is a brief, valid, and reliable measure.
