| Disgrifiad: | This paper analyzes the concept of art in Marcuse, Löwenthal, and Adorno, based on the specific nature of their approaches to mimesis. First, the contours of art within Marcuse’s aesthetic dimension are analyzed. Subsequently, the condition of art and the mimetic scar in relation to the destruction of the individual are explored in Löwenthal. Finally, the concept of art is traced through the lens provided by the meaning of the extermination camp in Adorno. It is concluded that, from its specificity, the treatment of mimesis in each of these Frankfurt thinkers constitutes a transhistorical constellation within the political economy of modernity. This constellation allows us to rethink, from a Latin American perspective attentive to the continuities between colonial and instrumental reason, aesthetic experiences capable of configuring and imagining (im)possible epistemic spaces and unruly corporealities. |
