Beschreibung:Set in Paraguay, within a context of dictatorships, exiles and strangeness, Augusto Roa Bastos writes Nonato, the short story analyzed below from the perspective of Jacques Lacan ́s language of the psyche, and Julia Kristeva ́s semiotics-motherhood strategies. Form these perspectives I will demonstrate that Nonato, the main character in this story, cannot resolve his Oedipus Complex, by not becoming “other” due to his wish to preserve the prime unity.
