Descripció:Introduction: Currently, a Spanish-speaking debate is developing between the concepts of clown and “payaso”. This reflection generates a conceptual approach to the relationship between both performing arts concepts through various interpretation processes, analyzing some theoretical approaches of the Performing Arts and Anthropology. Development: Using a structure analogous to a film script, it is proposed reflections about the confluence of techniques and styles in the exploration of the aesthetic experience. To this end, it exposes the need to consolidate a concept that shows that clowns and “payasos” are versions of the same tool: the search for laughter. Conclusions: In this sense, it exposes how this search becomes a popular artistic practice that allows not only democratization, but equitable access to cultural life.
