| Popis: | This article constitutes a state-of-the-art overview of political regimes at the national level in El Salvador (2010-2024). Based on a review of the scientific literature, it analyzes how this field of inquiry is structured in terms of questions, methodologies, and empirical observations. Scientific output covers five topics: (a) political regime transition, (b) political regime quality, (c) elections, (d) accountability (horizontal), and (e) other studies. Methodologically, documentary-descriptive research predominates, followed by empirical-descriptive or explanatory research. Based on this review, gaps in the study of Salvadoran political regimes have been identified, which require further field research. |
