Descrição:This article examines the concept of culture as articulated by Cultura Saprissa (CS). This notion is deeply intertwined with the relationships the organization forges both with Deportivo Saprissa S. A. and with La Ultra Morada (UM). From this dynamic emerges what I term, following Cirese (2005), an intermediate cultural position: an ambiguous condition situated between two worlds —the corporate and hegemonic sphere, embodied by the sports corporation, and the “popular” sphere, represented by the organized supporters’ group. As I will demonstrate through ethnographic data in the following sections, CS ultimately does not define a concrete position; rather, it remains suspended, oscillating between the Club (the rich owners) and the supporters’ group (people with limited resources).
