Beschreibung:The objective of this research was to analyze rafting as a sport practice from four categories: lifestyle, gender equity, current events, and promotion. To achieve the proposed goal, interviews were conducted during the year 2021 with 13 Costa Rican rafting athletes with national and international competitive experience. Among the main results, it was found that rafting is a sport that develops skills such as teamwork, decision making and problem solving. In addition, it modifies life habits such as behavior. It was found that there are many challenges ahead to make it an egalitarian activity, improve performance, end existing myths, promote the practice of this sport through training, as well as the formalization and professionalization of the sport.
