Description:Motivated by the pandemic generated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the objective is to reflect on the underlying problem that exists in the relationship: Mathematics education and nature. Our thesis is that: Ethnomathematics and the ethics of liberation are important theoretical references, which allow us to think about the necessary transformations in mathematics education, to contribute to the sustainability and improvement of the environment, pointing out that modernity is putting our life at risk existence as a species, and that it is necessary, from education, an ethic that has the affirmation of life as a principle. We conclude, then, presenting a proposal of ethical elements for mathematics education, oriented from ethnomathematics, with which rational, sensitive, and committed human beings are formed with the preservation, reproduction, and improvement of life, suitable to face the great problems of the world, working as a community.
