Se describe Guarea turrialbal1a J. León, sp. nov. Se trata de un árbol de hojas compuestas, raquis alado y crecimiento indeterminado; fue colectada esta especie, en los bosques húmedos subtropicales de Turrialba, en las tierras bajas de Costa Rica.
