Description:The objective of this work is to show the concept of alienation in the work of Herbert Marcuse. The human being who produces and consumes, pointing out the real problems that framed the historical and sociopolitical contexts in which Marcuse lived and that are still valid today. In this regard, the theoretical position of alienation in one-dimensional man as a product of postmodern society is based on the postulates of his predecessor, Karl Marx. The research design is of a descriptive documentary nature, specifying the authors’ works.
