Popis:This article presents a research study that addresses the themes of death and pain in relation to artistic creation, through the concept of the Real as defined by Jacques Lacan. The work highlights the importance of the aesthetic representation of pain as a form of creation through drive, and as a means of navigating the failure of language. For the reflection on this topic, the pictorial collection of Costa Rican graphic artist Roberto Murillo Alfaro is considered the primary body of study. To carry out the analysis, an interview was conducted that explored the creative process and the subjective meaning of the work for the artist, as well as a bibliographic review that sought to support the proposed conjecture regarding the relationship between pain and creation.
