Beschreibung:Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to analyze how a media discourse on international interference in Central America was built and presented during the 1980s, specifically in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. For this, we worked with two Costa Rican newspapers, with different ideological positions, such as La Nación and weekly Libertad. The chosen decade corresponds to what has been called the Second Cold War, with a resurgence of the conflict after the Sandinistas triumph in 1979 in Nicaragua and the arrival of Ronald Reagan to power in 1981 in the United States.
