The sample consisted of 51.9% women and 48.1% men, with an average age of 14.7 years. A sociodemographic data questionnaire, the CES-D scale to measure depressive symptoms, the Family Environment scale, and an ad hoc questionnaire to measure suicidal ideation and the perception of insecurity in the neighborhood were applied. Results. Show a high level of suicidal ideation, as well as moderate to large differences in the study variables, between young people with and without suicidal ideation. The main predictors were depressive symptoms, negative family environment and gender.
