Beskrivelse:The elision of the sound [d] is a widespread phonetic process among Spanish speakers. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the elision of the phoneme /d/ in postvocalic coda position and lexical stress. This is a quantitative, exploratory study focusing on the elision of the phoneme /d/ in postvocalic coda position. The sample consisted of four participants who met the following criteria: two from a high sociocultural background and two from a low sociocultural background, all with a complete natural dentition and Spanish as their first language (L1). Data were collected through recorded interviews with an average duration of 23 minutes. The results indicate that amplitude was greater when participants made a greater articulatory effort to produce the phoneme /d/, whereas amplitude decreased in cases of elision. These findings suggest a relationship between the elision of the sound [d] in postvocalic coda position and lexical stress.
