Περιγραφή:The purpose of this research is to conduct a literature review on academic engagement among university students. Following the PRISMA model, a literature analysis was performed involving article collection, selection, critical evaluation, and data synthesis. A total of 22 articles were retrieved from various countries, written in Spanish and English, sourced from scientific databases such as Mendeley, Refseek, Erick, and SpringerLink. Unreliable and pre-2019 studies were excluded. The review identified vigor, dedication, and absorption as the most commonly used dimensions to assess academic engagement, with implications for both academic and professional environments. Various assessment instruments exist, and interest in the topic is reflected in increased scientific publications in 2022 and 2023, with greater female participation. In conclusion, academic commitment correlates with achieving students' goals and expectations. Future research should further explore this topic across diverse cultural contexts. The study's practical implications include integrating updated information to inform the development of educational policies that prioritize academic engagement in the learning-teaching process, crucial for comprehensive student education.
