The set of alterity and the meaning of the family within street sales

Diğer Bilgiler:This article analyzes the construction of the alterity in two families of street sellers working in San Jose downtown, Costa Rica and how they face the economic and social situation nowadays. The Ethnography and not standardized interviews were used to collect data to avoid disrupting of the sellers’ work. It was found that the popular economy is not only a way for obtaining resources; it is also a strategy to the families who uses it, which involves social, community and family dynamics. The street sellers constitute a large family with its own performance
