| Περιγραφή: | This article analyses from an international perspective the legal implications for Costa Rica on the construction of the road parallel to the San Juan River; the boundary river with Nicaragua, and to the land boundary line. It also analyses Nicaragua`s intentions when suing Costa Rica before the International Court of Justice. Many errors in the management of diplomatic crisis provoked by Nicaragua´s dredging of the San Juan River are mentioned as well as the fact that the “frontier trail” will affect negatively the relations between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. With this road parallel to the boundary and the river, authorities of Costa Rica seem to consider the border zone as a frontline instead of an area for cooperation and exchange. |
