Towards Digital Transformation: Optimizing Human Capital through ICT Tools in a Small and Medium sized Enterprise (SME) in Costa Rica

| Popis: | This article presents the results of a study aimed at exploring the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as a tool for the development of the provisioning subsystem of the human capital department in a SME located in the Huetar Norte Region of Costa Rica. This analysis was carried out to strengthen and establish strategic processes in recruitment, selection, and hiring, laying the groundwork for the subsequent creation of the human talent department. The methodology employed was based on a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Questionnaires and interviews were administered to both employers and employees of the SME, providing essential information to identify relevant aspects to consider in developing the provisioning subsystem. The results highlight the importance of having a clearly defined job manual as a preliminary step, which facilitates this process when implementing recruitment 4.0 strategies. This strategy involves the integration of technologies to reduce costs and automate processes efficiently and effectively. In conclusion, it is emphasized that ICTs represent a fundamental strategic ally for developing the SME's provisioning subsystem of the human capital department. Moreover, these findings are significant because they can translate into a substantial reduction in both time and cost, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Costa Rican SMEs and offering a model that could be replicated by organizations of similar size and context. |
