Encountering the "us" from language and voice. On the feminist theory and method of María Lugones

Popis:This article systematizes, interprets, and discusses some of María Lugones’s work in order to understand here feminist theory and method, based on the analysis of her’s and Elizabeth V. Spelman’s article Have we got a theory for you! Feminist theory cultural imperialism and the demand for 'the woman's voice', as well as other pieces such as Structure/Anti structure and Agency Under Oppression (1990), Playfulness, "World"-Travelling, and Loving Perception (1987), and Purity, Impurity, and Separation (1994). This article emphasizes falls in the examination of the voice and its silencing as oppression towards women and other vulnerable populations. This is considered one of the seeds of intersectionality that as María Lugones argues in her writings, is the most comprehensive instrument to answer questions regarding what, how, who, what for, and why of human beings' oppression, particularly towards women, which the author specifically relates to cultural imperialism.
